I am an Associate Professor of Black Studies at Occidental College with research and teaching interests that converge around Du Boisian, environmental, anticolonial, and historical approaches to sociological inquiry. In addition to affiliations with the Department of Sociology and the Department of Urban and Environmental Policy, I currently serve as Faculty Director of Sustainability.
I earned a B.A. in Sociology (with distinction) from the University of San Diego, where i also studied Philosophy and Peace and Justice Studies. I received both my M.A. (2014) and Ph.D. (2018) in Sociology from Brown University.
